Chardham Yatra: Heavy Rain Across the Country, Landslides in Kedarnath; Alert for Pilgrims
Heavy rains are lashing different parts of the country, from the hills to the plains. The situation in Uttarakhand, also known as Devbhoomi (Land of the Gods), is particularly critical. Recently, a landslide occurred in Kedarnath on September 10, resulting in the reported deaths of five people. The monsoon season in Uttarakhand is in its final phase, but it is causing significant destruction.
The Meteorological Department has issued an orange alert for heavy to very heavy rainfall in the mountainous districts of the state from September 11 to 14. Officials have warned that the weather will remain severe during the monsoon's departure. Weather scientists have urged caution in sensitive areas, and an alert has been issued for Char Dham pilgrims to remain vigilant during this period.
