Role and Responsibilities
As a psychiatrist working in these settings, you will:
- Conduct psychiatric evaluations and assessments of inmates and patients.
- Develop and implement treatment plans, including medication management and therapy.
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to provide comprehensive mental health care.
- Participate in crisis intervention and ongoing care of individuals with acute and chronic mental health conditions.
Qualifications
- Medical degree from an accredited institution.
- Board certification or eligibility in Psychiatry.
- Valid California medical license.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work in a collaborative team environment.
- Experience in forensic psychiatry or working within correctional or state hospital settings is preferred but not required.
